Historic and Vintage Rigby Rising Bite .470 NE Double Rifle

Haha. Thanks.

No "contest" though. Just sharing a few special pieces that I think you guys may enjoy seeing as I had trouble finding examples of some of these to view and examine when I was first learning and looking. Also, I very much enjoy hearing and learning from everyone else as well. :D

No contest at all. vette47 owns this one hands down.

Vette447 and Red Leg, I hope both of you know I was just joking about the "contest." I'm sure that each of you knows what pretty rifles you have and are proud owners of such.

Of course. [emoji106]

Just came across this thread and it is certainly worthy of a bump. Truly a beautiful rifle with fantastic history. Hope some others who missed this can enjoy for the first time.

I agree. He was quite a fascinating hunter and explorer. I would like to do a page for him in the “Legends” section of the forums here but not sure if that is OK to do and haven’t had a chance.

Thesiger deserves a page. Pretty sure management would appreciate it.

Have this book about his first expeditions when he was very young....
Worth a read.....also a few years back when I was paying Pauls workshop/showroom a visit , he pulled out a 275 and handed it to me. Told me who it was made for...I didn't know of him at the time, but Paul told me a bit of his history and we looked it up in the rigby records, of which Paul has copies he made before he sold rigbys to the california bunch...he was trying to buy the rifle from someone...I was interested but didn't hear anymore...also on that visit I had swopped my older 275 rigby and my 350 rigby Paul had built me, for a replica wdm bell 275 rifle he had made using the last rigby serial number had had from the run out numbers he was given during the sale....( used the records to get the info for the rifle build).so couldn't complain...but that old 275 would have been neat to own....from memory he carried it on his Arabian expeditions..

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
