Highveld Taxidermy experience?

Oxi Shipping and Highveld are owned by the same person.

Mine are still in progress. So far I have been happy with their communication. Last month they reached out to me that the Blesbok hide was very thin (due to it being summers when dad shot it) so they recommend to replace it with better one that they have in stock. I thought that they will charge me for it, but they did a free courtesy replacement.

Plus, I get to see the progress on every step via a dedicated area on their site, where they upload pictures.

While my friend @PARA45 had a different experience with them, I have used Highveld taxidermy for over 20 year and they have done great work for me. I have probably had them handle the taxidermy on 9 or 10 safaris. They have done a full mount lion, pedestal mount rhino, 2 buffalo pedestal mounts with very nice pedestals and many plains game shoulder, wall pedestal and wood pedestals mounts. They also made a beautiful large wood pedestal and glass display case for my rhino horn. They charged a fraction of the price for that piece than a Houston based taxidermist wanted for a very similar piece. They have also built me a few pieces of furniture that came out great. For a couple of my safaris I did ship the hides and horns to Houston and had the taxidermy done here. I used B&B taxidermy for that work and for all of my domestic and Australia & New Zealand taxidermy. B&B does a great job too but they have gotten very expensive as have many of the good taxidermist in Houston.

Before I go to Africa for a safari I have always checked the taxidermy pricing and it has always been cheaper, even with the ocean freight shipping charges, to have the taxidermy done at Highveld and sometimes a lot cheaper.

Because I have done a lot of taxidermy with them I deal directly with the Owner's son who now runs the business so communication with them is very good.

They just finished my Uganda safari so I will be getting those trophies in a few months. Can't wait to see in person the double pedestal mount they did for my massive and my unique east African impalas, the photos look great.

The only minor issue I have had with Highveld is it sometimes takes a bit longer to get my taxidermy than if I had the hides and horns shipped to the U.S and the taxidermy done here in Houston

Blaine0023 Feel free to message me if you have questions regarding African Barefoot Safaris or Highveld.
I hunted with ABS in 2022 and will be returning in August.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
