My go to plains game rifle is a .300 Win Mag made by Sako. Lovely wooden stock and mounted a Zeiss victory 3-12 on it. My newest addition is a .404 Jeffery made by Heym. Our lengthy licensing procedure is testing my patience, it arrived in the country in January and I still haven't even seen it. Cannot wait to get my hands on it! On previous buff hunts I have used .375 H&H and .416 Rem Mag.
I will put some pen to paper (finger to keyboard) and load some pictures of previous memorable hunts when I have some time to do it properly. Busy on the farm at the moment!

See my signature for who I was hunting with. Jacques @JKO Hunting Safaris has access to a number of properties. Who exactly had what, I don't know. But we hunted Vaal Rhebok, Common Reedbuck and Bushbuck in that area. We hunted on low fence private farms. The Common Reedbuck was somewhat similar to whitetail hunting here, they both like corn.

Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
