Hi Folks, thanks for letting me join the group. I'm Martin and I come from Scotland, I am due to retire from the Fire Service in September of this year, so I am planning my first trip to Africa in 2025, probably Namibia. In Scotland, I normally shoot with .243, 6.5x55, .270, .308 although looking to get a .375 H&H for Africa. Any advice from fellow members would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Martin

Welcome to AH Martin! I’ve been hunting a few times in Scotland in the past. Beautiful but often very rainy ;)

Welcome Martin! I’ve hunted a little north of the green welly - is that near you?

Namibia is such a great choice for kudu, gemsbok, springbok, eland, warthog and the like.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome Martin! Glad you're planning for Africa!

Welcome, Martin. I've had the pleasure to work in Scotland several times on salmon around Campbelltown and the Mull of Kintyre. Absolutely beautiful country. Good luck in Namibia.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
