Heym 88B 500NE

And to think that the man who made this rifle will one day be dust and this fine work of wood and steel will go on.
Amazing.
Best of luck on you hunt. It must truly be one for the books if your willing to give up this rifle for it.

Hyke, I’m watching you hunt with D&Y this AM. What a location. That Eland was special. Nice shot with the Heym.

If anyone is struggling with trying not to purchase this Heym. Then I suggest that you not watch this hunt video by Vaughan from Untamed hunts with Dalton and York. That rifle performed very well and has trophy blood on it. Watching that hunt makes me realize that $23K for this Heym is a bargain.

As soon as DSC and Nashville shows are over and everyone goes from tire kicking mode to gear prep mode. This rifle will be gone quickly.

Nice rifle. If I hadn’t decided that my 500/416 is the perfect double for me I would be looking at this hyem seriously? Is will make someone very happy

Hate to see this go but I have a to fund a expensive hunt coming up. Heym 88B 500NE. Case colored Action, Elephant head top lever, ejectors, LOP 15 1/4", with upgraded wood. This rifle is in excelled condition, some minors scuff marks. Bluing is perfect on both barrels not single scratch, absolute beautiful case hardening. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more detailed photos. Will include reloading components if needed. Asking 23K obo

Beautiful rifle. I am seriously looking for a solid double and have been considering a Heym. Will you be going to DSC or SCI? Just registered so that I could inquire. Thanks very much.

This is one of those rifles that sit while a handful of guys are working out how to make a deal. Then poof it will be gone.

so true! I feel bad for them but when good values like this on a great rifle come up they are gone quickly. The rifles I have sold were at a good discount and averaged only three days to sell each

My favorite thing Heym does is the elephant head

For the love of Marissa Tomei, somebody please buy this rifle! I'm not even a Heym guy and bad thoughts are running through my head.

Thank you everyone for the kind words. I have a lot of interest and I think its sold and I am truly sad.
From this OP’s post, the DR appears to be sold. Perhaps @Skshyk can clarify its sale status.

The rifle is still for sale for now but I may just put it back in the safe. With these crazy new laws in California it will cost me a fortune to purchase a rifle like this again.

Sold my favorite motorcycle for a hunt years ago….hated to see it go….but man, what hunt!!

Beautiful gun! I might be interested but never fired a .500, what’s the recoil compared to a .470?

That’s the biggest I’ve fired and want to make sure it’s not to much recoil for me?

Mr. Skshyk,

You and I would feel better if you just put your magnificent rifle back in the safe so you can enjoy it at a later date. You are a smart man and will figure out a way to pay for your upcoming hunt without selling your Heym 500 NE.

I wish you a Happy New Year and the best of luck on your upcoming hunt.

Best Regards,

CR

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
