Heym 88B 450/400 Double Rifle

You need a lot of detail to sell a double rifle. You're asking a lot, so a potential buyer is going to expect everything to be exactly as they would want it if they ordered it bespoke themself. You're entitled to half of what you're asking with the vague description you've provided. Yes, your ad copy and hard facts might double the gun's value.

Build sheet?
Does it come with ammo, dies, components?
Do you have a photo of the regulating target? What ammo is it regulated to use?
Do you have a build sheet that shows any options or upgrades beyond bone-stock PH model?
Does it have a recoil reducer?
Does it have selectable ejector/extractor switch?
Does it include a case and if so, what kind?

Does it include a 3 business day inspection period? Firing or non-firing inspection?

Will you accept an intermediary to escrow the funds, or do you want prepayment?

Thou shalt have exacting, precise details and all facts when you ask >$20,000 for a firearm of any sort.

Agreed, or you will suffer the death of a thousand cuts by being asked the same questions over and over….. and most of those questions will come from people with 0% actual interest in buying.

If there is a "high-end" local gun shop nearby, you might want to use them to do a consignment.

I'm in Georgia.

There would be 2 gun stores in the entire state that I would consider...

1. Chuck's Firearms in Atlanta
2. Kevin's Sporting Goods in Thomasville

I can't think of any others in this state, who would have the expertise to sell a DR.

Heck, you might "get lucky" and sell it to someone here, or on another "hunting" forum, but you better be prepared to answer a WHOLE LOT of questions and sent many pictures.

450/400’s typically don’t bring as much money as the 470’s and 500’s but you might get lucky.

I'm not sure why it would make sense for Heym USA to represent a used Heym. Logically speaking, it undercuts a new sale for them for which they make a healthy profit margin. The only way I would take the gun in for consignment if I was Heym is if the profit on the used gun exceeds the profit on a new gun. Otherwise, what's the point?

The gun would need to be way, way less expensive wholesale to the agent to make a resale practical. I think the OP needs to sell it direct to the consumer if he wants to maximize return. Naturally, he is going to have to earn his $$$s by having copious amounts of info on the gun and its specs to be able to sell it for top dollar.

GLWS. It's a wonderful gun, but it takes salesmanship to accomplish. You need to post a lot more facts or you're going to get insulting offers.

I'm pretty sure that this is the exact gun that I purchased from Chris Sells at the SCI Convention in Nashville in 2024. It was one of his show models. Great shooter! I did some trading with Jerry Noblin on it and a few other things.

Really should take other members advice about details. Looks like this is also advertised on gun broker and GI. Still not complete info on those sites either. Also google price of used ph model heym in 450/400. I am not of price of new Heym thier site is not very informative.

People have been understandably shy about buying from new members because of the amount of scams that have been perpetrated by new members to the forum.

I see your in Oklahoma, I'm in southern Oklahoma currently close to the Choctaw Casino but if you are closer to any of the other members in the state it would squash lots of the suspicions if you let an active and long time member meet you/see the gun in person.

I lived in Lawton off on on for about 12 years (Field Artillery). I have bought a lot of firearms, suppressors, and accessories from Valor Defense (previously Ares State Armory) over the years. Great people to work with.

Also they are so backed up on new ones I don’t think it affects new sales much- they rather some own a Heym than go with another available option. I don’t know if they get a commission on a used sale but consignment at LGS usually does.

It was semi-rhetorical. He will sell your gun, he wants to make more than he would selling a new one by percentage. He’s not going to do it when you’re asking for what you paid or close to it as that would be anti-capitalistic. He’s not injuring himself to enrich someone else.
