I picked up my Heym 89B in 470NE yesterday and thought I’d share a few pics…

Very nice. My wife owns and professionally hunts with her 88b .450-.400 and will move to her 89b .470 N. You have a fine firearm. If you decide to go with a red dot I would stay away from the factory base. You will lose your cheek weld.

A beauty! Simple, but a beautiful rifle that will certainly get the job done for years to come.

Congratulations! Very jealous!

I really like the differing colors in the wood. Beautiful rifle. Congratulations.

Nice — clean, classic, nice cut checkering, straight bold wood grain, perfect combination of Form & Function !!

Congratulations on your new baby @RockSlinger404 Can't wait to see it propped up against a buffalo or an elephant :)

Can you elaborate on that? I have a 1 MOA Trijicon on my .500 and don't seem to have an issue with that. It does sit pretty low. Not to mention when one is getting fitted the comb height can take red dot, scope etc. into account. Chris Sells accounted on scope height when measuring me for my 9.3x74R.

Beautiful double, what’s the first hunt you’re planning for it?

Thanks for sharing. I really would like an 88. However, I see the intent & appreciate the 89 more every day.

I love the scalloped receiver ..

Thank you Everyone, I'm over the moon!

She is a little skinny (9,9lb) and a bit short... Will first extend the LOP to 14,75" (the same as my shotguns) and potentially later add some weight if she hits too hard.

If all goes well, this gun's first kill will be a bull elephant, however I will first need to get to know her a bit and sort out the reloads.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
