Hello, My name is Philip Moore and I live in Jefferson, Texas. I found this forum a while back just doing web searches for info on hunting Africa. Like many of you, it has been a lifelong dream to hunt the Dark Continent.
It started when I was a young boy reading the hunting stories in my Dad's Argosy, True and Sports Afield magazines. Any of you remember Argosy Magazine? Well I have finally come to a point in my life where I believe I can make it happen. Reading ya'lls hunting reports about the exciting hunts you have had has really been getting me fired up to do something about it. So, hopefully in 2016 my dream will come to be a reality. Until I decide exactly what I want to hunt and where, I will be lurking in the shadows on here to learn more about all the possibilities. Keep those great stories coming. Thanks, Philip

Welcome to AH Phillip! Great bunch of fellows on here, bottom less pool of info they have I tell you. Hope that soon you will be posting your own hunt report!

Welcome to AH, tons of info here, you don't have to lurk in the shadows, ask questions and you'll be amazed at the response!

You will have plenty here to look at read about.Doing the research and finding out info from guys can be alot of fun.Hunting africa is one of the greatest things I have ever done and think of going everyday.

Good luck with your search.

Howdy!

Enjoy the site! And the planning. It is half the fun,

Thanks for the welcome Guys. I have some friends that have been there and they have been after me to go while it is still possible. They also tell me that once you go the first time, you will go back.

Welcome to AH, Philip!

They also tell me that once you go the first time, you will go back.

They did not lie to you there. You already start planning before your back on the plane.

Welcome Philip. Like you I started dreaming of an African Safari when I was a boy. I saved my coins for a long time to do it but the memories were worth every penny. Like Billc says once you go over you will start planning the next trip before you even get back to Texas!
Ask questions on here because there are list of folks willing to help.

Thanks for the replies. My dream hunt is for a big old Dagga Boy, but I probably won't get to do that on this hunt. Most likely just PG, which maybe will include one of my other priorities, a nice Sable.

You should also consider making it over for the Dallas Safari Club show, Jan 15-18. Great place to do some browsing and there is even an AH dinner on Saturday if you're interested.

I second Royal27. That's how Ann and I did it back in 2011. It means a lot to talk to the outfitters and PH's face to face. Plus, the AH gang gets together for dinner - you can pick their pickled brains while there!

Welcome to AH Phillip know you will enjoy it here.

My best always

Welcome to AH Philip! Nice to have you with us.

Welcome to AH, enjoy your research!

welcome to AH ,phillip
enjoy the planning .
this site will be an asset in the whole deal.
don't lurk, go berserk......

Welcome to the site! Make yourself a promise - that you won't let 2016 pass by without fulfilling your dream, in fact 2015 would be even better because you'll be even closer to trip #2 that way. It takes some planning and saving for sure, but it is so worth it. Be warned though, the desire to go back is very real and unrelenting. There are certainly some great PHs/safaris to chose from right here in the forum. Good luck & make it happen!

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
