Hunted
US, South Africa
A month ago we decided to go to a local gun show and while there we met Hercules from Hercules Safaris. we talked a little about our hunt we had in may and how we are planning to go back in the future. As we was leaving he told us to sign up for a free 7 day hunt for 3 animals so we did. 2 days later my wife got a call saying she won the hunt!
It is a 7 day hunt for blue wildebeest, blesbok, and impala. Since our first hunt she shot an impala and a blesbok and those are on my list we are going to trade and she is going after a sable and I'll shoot her animals. Got the dates picked and we are starting with his paperwork to get this going. Planning on going in October this time instead of May like we did for our first safari. The african bug sure has bitten us, can't wait to get back over there. And thanks to Hercules for giving us this hunt.

All the best for your safari.

Is this Hercules Oliver!

Enjoy your hunt and share how it went with us upon your return.

Yes it is. Have you been with him?

Have not hunted with him but almost did. I have heard good things about him. His website shows an attractive lodge. Enjoy yourself.

Dear Brewster6514
Enjoy creating memories to cherish forever...
Enjoy Africa!

Enjoy!

Awesome, best of luck!

We also "won" his raffle last March. We went on our trip in Sept. He has a very nice lodge and we had a great time. I am a bowhunter and I shot 6 very nice animals. I got 2 zebras with one arrow! Ask him to show you the video. I shot one zebra and when they turned to run the wounded zebra impaled another zebra with the part of the arrow that was sticking out of it. I say we "won" because my daughter who runs trade shows for a large international company says those raffles are all rigged so that those who show interest win. It was our second safari but first with them.

@Brewster6514, you two are going to really enjoy Africa! I’m jealous of your wife hunting sable! Best of luck and don’t forget to share pictures and a report!

got our tickets all purchased. now we just need to wait, not taking our own rifles this time so should be a little less hassle and easier to get through customs. this waiting part is the hardest. cant believe we are going on our second African safari. never dreamed of ever going once. :giggle:

wapiti,

I have also won a hunt, am a bowhunter, and plan to go this summer, can you tell me a bit about your hunt, was it as you felt it should be, and are they aligned with what the needs of a bowhunter are? Several blind set ups etc, good cover to prevent scent dispersal, and decent variety of animals? We are the same age....so I really would like your input. Any tips also, as this will be my first trip to Africa. Your tally of 6 animals sounds impressive, what were they?
