Henning’s Guide Service Lake Arthur LA

I know it’s been awfully dry along a lot of the gulf coast, the salt marsh on our property went dry for a couple of weeks but after rain over Labor Day put some water in them. If you can find water you should find some birds. This is on the Alabama coast.

I checked the website for Grosse Savanne. Their rate is $1,000/day including lodging and meals. That’s a bit pricey for me.
I went to the Grosse Savanne website and day rate is $350/head with a minimum of two hunters. I believe the day rate of Hennings was the same.

There is a big difference in the overnight rates. You would stay in Lake Charles if you did a day hunt at Grosse Savvane--lots of lodging and food options. If you did a day hunt at Hennings, you would likely stay at the Hampton in in Jennings. If you fly in, It would be either to Lake Charles or Lafayette. Jennings is essentially halfway between Lafayette and Lake Charles.

Contacted a second person and they also talked about the drought. This could change with a Tropical storm or hurricane overnight. When Lafayette, LA has emergency water restrictions, things are bad.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
