Help needed

An update on this build is it's a no go. I'm off for buff next year and wanted for that. The builder has been very honest and said he won't get it done in time. The nice thing is it's freed up cash for more hunts or nice motor for my birthday

My vote would be for the 500 Jeff ist is a shame your gunsmith can't source an barrel in time for your hunt.
I love shooting my CZ 500 Jeff. I did shoot a jackal in april with it:A Samurai:

The stock blank looks good, has good grain flow in the wrist and should make a nice rifle stock, so it was good of you to rescue it from the firewood bin.

Both a rifle or a motor will make noise for your special occasion. :)
My 2 cents; If the special build comes around again hold out for what you want specifically.

I can still have the it built it just wont be done for 10-12 months

I'd go for 458 Lott.

Easier to find bullets, and with the 7000 J Energy limit at Bisley, the 458WM is more useable.

Scrummy

[emoji15] But it's not British! Ok before you start I know the 500j has German roots by so does our Royal family

If you have an urge to rattle your fillings, do it with style. Go with the 500 Jeffery.

Consider this the definitive answer.
@Nevada Mike
If you want a bit more rattle go a 505 Gibbs.
If you want extreme rattle that will shake your teeth clean out of your heed and have you looking for a chiropractor you could have bought the mates 458 win mag that weighed in at 6.5 pounds. No wonder he sold it with only 1 round fired out of the box.

@norfolk shooter
A mad pommy mate told me he bought a new motor.
I asked him why he didn't by the whole car instead of just the motor.
You English have some funny sayings.

Well @Bob Nelson 35Whelen I have decided to go ahead with the build and even though it won't be ready for my hunt in April I don't mind nothing else was coming close to it and I suppose bi might as well have it made whilst I'm younger so I'll get more use out of it [emoji1787]. So no new car (motor) for me

@norfolk shooter.
Maybe you can have your new rifle and a new motor.
You could build your car like a rifle. Get the motor then build the car around it. Something like a nice Jenson Intercepter.

The rifle is coming along well he has the feeding and cycling all sorted. I popped in to see Ian a few months ago to get measured up for the stock. He thinks it might be done by Christmas

Just moving to DM. Yes, please ask your friend if he knows somebody who might be willing to support a persistent hunt in the snow.

Hi Paul,
This is Daniel from Mankazana Safaris.

I saw your post regarding a hunt in Africa. I am sure you have been bombarded with messages and replies from other outfitters, so I will keep this one quick.
I have a feeling we have exactly what you need for a first safari.
If you'd like to hear more, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Yours sincerely,

If you ever decide to sell this rifle, I will buy it with the dies, bullet, brass, the works. Dan
