Namibia
Hi all.
I was recommended to this site for information as my daughter and i are traveling to Namibia in June for a 7 day hunt, it will be our first time in Africa, and a life long dream of mine. (although as a 13 year old i was wanting to do this as a zoologist, now I'm doing as a taxidermist lol ).

I will have a read of the many articles i can already see.
Thank you.

Welcome to this great forum.

Welcome to AH and good luck on your hunting trip

Welcome, enjoy your "first" African safari. What animals are on your wish list?

Hi Samantha, welcome to AH !

Welcome aboard Samantha. I'm very happy to see that another gal has joined our ranks. You've probably noticed that there are a fair number of Aussies on AH, so you should feel right at home. Without a doubt this is the most informative site available for anyone going to Africa on a hunt. If you haven't already booked an Outfitter, I urge you to take a really good look at what the Outfitter Sponsors of AH have to offer. Reason being, that these guys have to perform or their shortcomings will be quickly aired for everyone to see. In short they are vetted on an almost daily basis. If after doing a little reading you have any questions at all, just ask them. You will receive answers from friendly folks that have been there and done that. Have you already decided which animals you and your daughter are going to take? Will you be using you own rifles or renting them from your outfitter? Has anyone mentioned your need to get familiar with using "shooting sticks?" You will be expected to use them in Africa.

Enjoy the planning process, the excitement, the journey, the adventure...
Welcome to this great Forum and hunting family.

Welcome! You'll love Namibia and June is a great time to go there. Just remember to bring some warm clothes as the mornings and evenings can get down to freezing. By mid-day, you'll be in shirt sleaves and asking for sun block.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
