Hello from rural NYS

Giday Joe and welcome to the A H forums. Stunning rifle to introduce yourself with with.

My name is Joe and after stumbling across many internet search engine hits to this forum and finding a lot of very interesting content I've decided to join up and say hello.

I have never hunted Africa but I really want to someday. This seems like a great place to gather information from those who have and I look forward to participating.

Lever rifles are my real passion but I love a good bolt rifle as well. I aspire to own a double in 500NE at some point.

I have 7 lever rifles in all, some in common chamberings, other not so common.
The pride and joy of my safe is a modern Miroku Winchester 1886 Takedown that I had Turnbull turn into the rifle I've dreamed for years of owning. It's now a 45-90. I live close enough to Doug's shop that I dropped it off and picked it up in person. His showroom is very nice with many trophies on display including two cape buffalo he took with his 1886 chambered in his 475 Turnbull cartridge. Was very cool to see.

Welcome to AH! Beautiful rifle!!

Welcome to AH Joe!

Definitely something I aspire to do one day. My wife is dead set against it, mainly because she fears I will get hurt or worse

Welcome Joe! I was born in Plattsburgh, along the beautiful shores of Lake Champlain. Moved away when I was 5 (my dad was in the Air Force).

Hopefully both you and your wife will visit Africa one day. It is a life changing experience. I lived and worked in Angola for 5-1/2 years and Nigeria for 6 years. Hunted and done photo safaris in several other countries. And yes, I managed to live to tell about it.

Welcome to the sight! My wife was dead set against it too. She fell in love with Africa, and now frequently searches the real estate listings in Namibia.

Welcome to AH. Nice to have you as part of our community. Enjoy the forum.

Good day! Welcome from our side!

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
