Hello from California

Hello AH! I’ve been cruising through this forum for a while now and figured I would join as I’ve been enjoying the content. I have not been to Africa yet but have long been intrigued by hunting there. My grandfather went on three safaris before he passed and I loved looking at all his exotic trophies in his office. I am an avid waterfowler, deer hunter and fly angler (specifically for black and striped bass). I love gear and guns. I have a special affinity for Ruger M77 rifles of all vintages and enjoy tinkering with my rifles. My dad as also always wanted to hunt Africa and I hope we can go together in the coming years. I look forward to learning from the knowledge on this site and hope to contribute to it as well. Cheers!

Yours truly was born in Torrance, California and raised there in the golden state.
Upon graduating from high school, I began moving north.
For a time I lived in Colusa County (1970’s) and I did my share of bass fishing, waterfowl and pheasant hunting, etc.
Now I have lived in Alaska for about 41 years.

If you ever get the chance to take a safari with your Dad, just do it!! I buried my Dad just 3 weeks ago and I have such wonderful memories of our hunts in Zimbabwe, Namibia and South Africa. I was fortunate to be able to hunt Cameroon in March of this year, seeing the joy on my father's face when I showed him the pictures of my 4 trophies taken on that safari is something that will stick with me forever. Never take time with any loved one for granted, make plans and go!!
