Hello from Alaska

I just wanted to thank everyone for the great information on this site. I have been a member for a bit, but have not taken the time to introduced myself. I live in Anchorage, Alaska now after 10 years in the bush. I have my first safari planned for September 2015 (14 day plains game in SA). I look forward to playing a more active role on the site. Thanks for having me!

The wait is already killing me, but I'm trying to use the time I have wisely! Moose hunt in September, then more planning for side trips in SA.

Welcome and good move going with a 14 day safari, on my trip we only had 8 days hunting, it was fantastic but ended way too soon. I gotta admit a guy from Alaska going to Africa makes me rather jealous - at home or in Africa, you're in paradise.

me and the wife only got back sunday evening and joysie is already making plans of going back asap.
she wants to sell everything and shift over there for keeps.
you've only got the best part of 14 months to wait ,it will seem like 5 years

Thank you for the kind words. I have been fortunate to spent the last 14 years in Alaska, thanks to the U.S. Army getting me here. I went with 14 days, knowing even that would go too fast. I already have the second trip rolling around in the back of my head. This is something I have always wanted to do, since I read my first hunting magazine 40 years ago. I'm glad to hear your hunt went well!

It sounds like you had a great trip! The wait will be tough, but I hope to keep busy. The dead of winter will be the worst, but I hope to make it to Vegas for the SCI convention again.
