One Day...
AH elite
I fully realize that one cannot lead to the water an animal that does not want to drink - i.e. haters of Hornady will so remain (and this is fine with me) - but for those interested in facts, I can report (full report coming soon) that this Hornady .470 NE 500 gr DGX Bonded factory load killed this buffalo with a single ~40 yd behind-the-shoulder-double-lungs shot (30 yd dash, so obviously stone dead when we came on it that it did not require the proverbial 'insurance' shot) from a Krieghoff Classic Big Five, last week (Aug 14, 2018) with Kemp African Safaris in the Waterberg District, Limpopo, South Africa. The bullet was recovered under the hide on the opposite side.
.470 NE 500 gr DGX B bullet on the horn after field extraction.
A feisty bull apparently involved in many confrontations.
Not a tremendously wide bull, but a hard boss with a lot of character and well worn tips.
I fully realize that "one swallow does not a summer make" and I do not own stock in Hornady nor do I argue for or against the DGX B, but if the intent is to collect actual field performance feedback, this is mine...
I may add that the Hornady factory loads (either DGS or DGX B) shoot consistently an honest 1.5" group at 50 yd in my rifle.
