Headed to Zimbabwe in June/July

Any trophy elephant bulls?
Yes but you can’t bring back the ivory right now. Some will be hunting bulls in the Omay and they will have a good hunt but just have to store the ivory for now.

Going there myself next year. PM sent
Deposits paid and flights booked! We're headed to the Omay for elephant and leopard in late June/early July.

We will be hunting with Dalton and York Safaris, a new outfit, booked through Michelle @ Buchanan Hunts.

A full report will follow on our return!

Trophy Consultants International (TCI) in Zim does an amazing job on replica tusks. The ones I’ve seen are almost impossible to distinguish from real unless you pick them up.

I’ve been there before and they have done work for me. I did not realize they did replica tusks. Thanks.

TCI does a great job on replicas. They did 50 plus pounders for edge and they came out very lifelike. Not cheap but cool

Do you know much about their process? Do they take a mold or just rely on measurements? Average cost?

I've got a taxidermist here in the USA that makes replicas based off photos and measurements.

I think the replicas were done with measurements and tons of pictures. I’m a little foggy on price since I didn’t write the check but the replicas were perfect. Shipping the damn things were the most and I’m thinking it was something OVER 4 thousand to reach Florida all in. Still small price for priceless memories. I’m a little afraid with our political nonsense getting real tusks in USA is a memory

Thanks for the info. I might just get them done here in the US to avoid shipping costs

Well done for choosing Zimbabwe you will find the biggest treasure in Zimbabwe.. The people.

Congrats! I heard you got your Tom after only a few days- awesome! Are you planning on posting a full report?

Well done leopardslayer, look forward to hearing more.

If you have any questions, shoot me a PM

Heading out this Thursday. Dalton has a lion hunter in camp right now. They've got 2 leopards hitting the lion baits! Here's some pictures of one of them:

Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
Spending a few years hunting out west then back to Africa!

Hello. If you haven't already sold this rifle then I will purchase. Please advise. Thank you.

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
