Hello all;
@Just Gina and I are wanting to try something different here. We are going to offer up a couple surplus guns we have and donate the net proceeds after shipping costs to Hurricane Relief. Thinking to Samaritans Purse or something similar or connected. Any ideas are welcome.

First up is a 10 gauge side by side double. Zabala made in Spain. 32" barrels, 3.5" magnum, 14 1/8" lop to front trigger. It's a big heavy gun choked full and full. Asking $1000 shipped. Haven't weighted it yet but it's big and heavy so guessing it could cost $100 to ship.

So the plan is if we get $1000 for it and shipping is $100 we will send in a donation of $900. We will try to do it in a Transparent way or with verification to the buyer.

I really don't know what this shotgun is worth. Open to offers. Just please remember we are donating the proceeds so if you pay a little extra it goes to Hurricane Relief anyways.

If we can do a face to face deal and save shipping, we will donate that extra. We do travel especially between Texas and Minnesota often through Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Kansas City, Des Moines, the Twin Cities, and North of that. Sometimes to Western Kansas. And we plan to be in Nashville for SCI and hopefully Atlanta for DSC and probably driving.

Ok we've got a Remington 700 in 270 Win getting added to the Hurricane Relief deal. Looks like a 21" barrel and about 13 3/8" LOP. Has a few safe dings.

Comes with the base and bottom half rings which is exactly how I bought it years ago. Got it in a group deal from @lwaters along with a Ruger and Winchester. I've just never shot this one so way past time to go. I see these priced all over the board and I'm not a Remington expert so I'm starting at $700 shipped with all money over shipping cost going to Hurricane Relief. If I'm too high or too low we will serious consider offers for more or less;) Same with the 10 gauge shotgun posted above.

Every Thursday morning I go to a Bible study and one of the guys has been on a couple of Samaritans Purse missions. He has helped clean up and rebuild after disasters here in the U.S.A.

I am not deeply knowledgeable about the organization, however every piece of information I have seen leads me to believe this is a really good group that does really good things for people who need help.

I sincerely applaud you for your ideas and generosity. You can expect a PM from me. I don’t need any guns, but I do need to help in some way.

@Just Gina mentioned she saw some info on Samaritans Purse and that they were amongst the first ti get into North Carolina. Then @mdwest did his announcement and we took that as further confirmation. So now with your note as well, it sure looks like a good place to send donations.

Now we just need to get these sold and see if we can find another to put up;)

FYI...........they had a head start! Nevertheless, great organization.

Samaritan's Purse is an evangelical Christian humanitarian aid organization with headquarters in Boone, North Carolina. The organization also has warehouses and aviation facilities in North Wilkesboro and Greensboro, North Carolina.

Hello , Action Bob, Ive been on at least 6 , missions with the sams purse to Hurricanes and fires. they are the real deal and I will vouch for them personally, sadly Ive slowed down since covid sickness, also I see where politics had franklin G. resign but I think the organization will hold true to its mission. .Just a thot.

Price drop on the 10 gauge side by side to $900 shipped.

Bob, you and Gina have been two of my favorite personalities on AH. This gesture convinced me that you two are really decent human beings. I hope someday our oaths cross in person.

Best wishes to you both.

Doug

The 10 gauge shotgun is sold pending funds which will show up soon;)

Thanks to @Ridge Runner for making the purchase and arrangements so the donation will be for the full amount!

Exceptional idea, however, I really cannot, at this time, bring myself to shed any of my firearms as I have pledged many to my 13 grad kids and use the balance. It was easier and less painfully to send $1,000 to Samaritan’s Purse so we did. They are a great organization and deserve whatever help you can provide. Blessings. Ed

Ed that is great and thank you for supporting the relief efforts.

Our intention was never to encourage others to sell their guns. We are just trying to cut down to no more that 5 gun safes full. So this was just an idea to reduce the surplus guns we have and help out with Hurricane Relief at the same time. I really need to find another gun or two to put up;)

Question for members in general.... Anything anybody is looking for? We are not intending to donate any of our higher end stuff but we have lots of various guns we would consider.

Do you have any old Mausers you want to part with? Or a spotter in 9.3x62? Something classic? I imagine a lot of people would be interested in some sort of classic cartridge.
