Guns.com

Tried to but could not get it done. No real person on the other end of the phone. Gave up.

I looked at them a few times and just felt like a big scam site so stay away

Bought my .375 Ruger Alaskan with VX3 2.5-8x36 for $700-ish prior to first safari. (Purchase date was in 2020) No problems whatsoever. Rifle was unfired/nearly unfired - great "used" buy.

It’s 100% not a scam site, I’ve bought quite a few guns off this site. I’d say the vetting process for sellers is much much better than a particular very popular online gun auction/buying site

Some things I don’t care for though: no method to contact seller if one has additional questions about a gun. Sometimes photos are limited as well. I don’t see a significant number of Safari type rifles.

They have a few different types of return policies depending if it’s a certified gun or non certified. Because of their vetting process as far as scams go, that’s more likely to happen here.

If there was some mechanism to contact the seller when questions arise it would be a lot better. Anyhow, I would absolutely buy from them again, it will be a problem free transaction.

It is a legitimate website

Legitimate. I bought my Browning Silver SHOT Show special edition from them 2 years ago. I was skeptical at first because they had it on sale for $300 off what they were everywhere else. I bought with a debit card, selected an FFL from their list that was a couple miles up the road from me, 4-5 days later the gun was at his shop. I do remember calling during the order process to ask a question about selecting an FFL and someone answered the phone. Maybe things have changed.

I was sort of surprised how easy it was.

I was just checking out their site again. There is no direct contact with the seller but you could email a question and wait to hear back which I’ve not done. I’ve purchased 7 handguns and several rifles from them, all trouble free and very consistent.

I've bought two .375s from them, and was very pleased. It appears that some of the firearms are stocked by guns.com, and others may be brokered. On the first purchase, I asked a question, and it was a couple of days before I got a response, but it was accurate. Also, shipping was rather slow (weekish?). On the second purchase, the rifle was shipped on Monday after being ordered on Saturday, with arrival on Wednesday. Ratings for the rifles were "Very Good" to "Excellent". Both were essentially new, but one had been rebarreled (to a custom barrel maker, SSK Industries) which they didn't mention. I don't remember if they showed a photo of the new barrel ID, so it may have been my oversight. I'm pleased regardless.

I've had years of success with guns international and gunbroker.

If you are buying through an online auction site or even a retailer/gun shop...you better do your homework. We all know that getting scammed sucks. Stay frosty.

As for this particular site, I've seen a few ads for things I might want but have had difficulties getting conformation or just gotten a weird vibe that turned me off. This is by no means an indictment against them as the sample size is too small, but that's been my experience.

There is a short list of retailers I trust and at the top of them is @TOBY458! ;)

I've bought a couple of guns from them. The transaction aspect of it goes smooth. I returned one that was magna-ported without it being in the description or able to tell from original pics. That also went smoothly. Their gun knowledge, pictures and descriptions are poor. Everyday they list pistols under rifle categories on Guns International. I mean do they really not know the difference between a rifle and a pistol?? Damn, that annoys me!
Like on a previous post here, I was able to request more pics and information that I recieved a couple of days later.
