Thanks Gizmo!

I do most of my bushveldt hunting with those weapons, with the exception of the Swift.
The FN is a 7x57, the CZ a 7x64 and the Mauser 8x57 JS.
I also utilize a 300 Win Mag , 270 Win and a 243 for plains game

Jon that just proves that great minds think alike;) my go to hunting rifles are a 300 wm, 270, and 243. If I get an oppurtunity hunt some deer for myself I may take one of the mausers and cull a doe just for fun.

Lol of course I said that same thing last year about one of my muzzleloaders and it didn't happen. I did get to hunt myself one weekend last year and I got a great mule deer. I didn't realize that I was going to get to hunt that particular day, we were out quail hunting and happened upon that deer. I didn't have a rifle with me at the time but one of my buddies had his win model 70 in 308 in the bakkie. He was nice enough to let me use it to kill that deer. Ironically my model 70 is a 308 super grade. His is a feather weight. I really liked it. I offered to buy it from him but he wouldn't sell it. Probably a good thing as my wife would have skinned me alive as I already own 5 308's.

This sexy little number is a Walther PP 7.65mm
That was a carry back from WWII by the owners Father. His Dad took the gun apart and lost several parts(Alzheimer's) I aquired all the proper parts and got her back together. Best I can find is that this gun was made 41-42ish, the grips I find odd though. The Ox Blood Red grips were typically associated with the shooting team, they were issued a new pistol each year but only one set of these grip panels. But this pistol is early in serial number range a year or two before these grips. Several of these like this were liberated out of the Walther Factory in 1945. Maybe there is a Walther expert on here and can offer up more information.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
