Gudday from Queensland Australia

Hi Guys , Great to see such an Awesome page and threads with like minded Adventurers.
Keen to go Hunting as soon as my 416 Rigby PTA (permission to acquire) is approved. We’re having a bit of drama over here atm with Large Calibers and I’ve been waiting over 60 days with no end in sight.
So until i can join the Dangerous Game Club I’ll be living the dream through your stories
Hoping to provide some Cool photos very soon if everything goes Ok.
In a World where Culture seems precious, why is it so hard to practise mine ?
@Trojan1972
You bloody Queenslanders are starting to become common place here. There's quite a few of you now. If'n you live near the Sunshine coast there's a few there that like big toys as well
Fortunately the real people live in NSW and don't have to worry about bending bananas for a living.

@CBH Australia
We need some more New South Welshmen in the site mate, these Queenslanders keep popping up all over the place.
The Americans will start to think Queensland is the only state with hunters in it soon.

Hi Mate, i shoot/RO at Ipswich / Ripley. I hope to get to know more of you through competitions across Australia and on some nice Hunting grounds

I’m a regular at Ripley. I shoot BGR there first Sunday of every month. We’ll have to have a chat.

It IS the only State . Full Stop !
????

I think they used to say “ There are only 2 states to be in, Queensland and pissed”

Welcome to AH! It is a great site, glad to have you here.

Greetings Trojan1972,

Khomas Highland Hunting and Fishing Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

I look forward to photos and information about your new .416 Rifle.
The two attached photos shown below are of my .416 Rifle.
It is chambered for the original Rigby .416 cartridge.
It began as a standard grade CZ Model 550 Magnum.
Before even firing it, I had a professional Gunsmith modify it to my preference.

The barrel is now somewhere around 24 inches or about 60 - 61 Centimeters.
The replacement front sight has a non-movable standard size brass bead plus, a flip up large white bead (porcelain).
The bolt shroud and “safety” mechanism is now of the Winchester Model 70 style.
The stock is reinforced with cross bolts and glass bedding.
There is a barrel band type of sling swivel base and a gel filled anti-recoil pad.
At this stage, I do not intend to scope this rifle, maybe some day, maybe not.

Cheers,
Velo Dog.

Nice Bundy collection
I have the same standard Safari Magnum , will try polish my action and see if the ejector needs more of a Bend , otherwise will send off to a Gun smith to try get it to run smoother as well.
For some reason i never use a safety , I never have one up the spout usually. A trait from the days of hunting with a semi auto before they were confiscated over here Though my Grandfather could shoot just as quick with his bolt action
