Gruss Gott von Missouri!

Welcome to AH from a fellow KC resident.

I don't have the luxury of my own outdoor range so my son and I along with my father (Shootist43) shoot at Parmawoods. I actually like the cease fire every 10 minutes and the 3 seconds between shots rule, they stop me from burning up to much ammo and force me to focus on the task at hand.

Have lurked for several weeks doing recon for June, 2020 safari to RSA with Somerby Safaris. Thanks to all who have worked so hard to collect all the great knowledge stored here.

Desired animals for my first safari, 2nd trip to Africa:
1. Kudu
2. Gemsbock
3. Wildebeast
4. Zebra
5. Impala

Welcome to AH sir! I am one of the KC area members of AH and of the local SCI chapter. The outfit you have selected is a good one and I am sure Droan and his team will provide you with a great hunt. Somerby safaris have been at the KCSCI Expo for several years and I have interacted with them. In fact, I came close to booking an elephant hunt with them in 2015.
PM me if you would like to chat on the phone sometime!

USMA84DAB, I'm happy to hear that you have a rifle range in your back yard. Great for practice but with limited potential for meeting guys and or gals with similar interests. Or after contacting the other AH members in your area you could invite them to a meet and greet / range session at your place.:rolleyes:

Welcome to AH!

Welcome to AH Gruss! Nice to have you on the site and we look forward to you sharing your stories!

A big congrats on your trip Gruss! I am sure you will have a fantastic time!

Please keep us in mind for helping to get your trophies home!

Gruss Gott! Von einiger Americanische Deutscher! (Sorry about bad spelling in the mother zunge! Ich spreche schlecht Deutsch). I am looking forward to a great report. I need a daily ration of reports to hold me over until my next trip in April 2020. Welcome to a great resource.

Oh yeah, why go to Parma Woods ( a conservation department run range nearby) when I have 25 yard range two steps out my back door, and a 100 yard range on the south end of my property?! The only trouble is I am the one that has to keep the thing mowed during the crummy MO summer - 98 degrees and heat index of 110! YUK!! Not getting paid to be miserable anymore!

The heat index is currently 20 degrees cooler at my place in MO vs where I live in TX - so get out there and mow that grass!:ROFLMAO::)

Once I retire I will have a gong out to 700 yards in Ozark County. Then I can start complaining about the MO summer. Lol

No way, Tarbe - Uncle Sam ain't paying me anymore to be miserable!!!!

It was the mildest July I can remember in KC in my entire life, but why sweat buckets when I can be patient? : )

I feel sorry for both of you guys. It is currently 65 degrees and will be going up to a scorching 81. I'm going to have to crank up the zero turn long before that happens.:p:p:p

I'd prefer being called a "cool" old dude. But I have been known to "stir the pot" once in a while.:p:p

When I grew up they referred to people such as yourself as "ornery"

: )

Labor Day weekend should be ...

interesting? LOL!!!!

You "betcha" Red Rider, looking forward to it. I'm wondering what if any rifle I ought to bring.

Sounds like we have a location for the AH Mid-West USA Big Bore Shoot. I would suggest a date for mid-April.:sneaky::D

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
