Hi there, I'm a relatively new hunter in my 30s located in TX. I've been hunting for about 3 years now, started with birds but just started hunting deer last year, and I'm hooked. Trying to slowly introduce myself to bigger game, I love the mystique of hunting and how it allows one to commune with nature. Also am a longtime fan of hunting novels, especially Hemingway. Green Hills of Africa first got me interested in safari and I recently re-read it and now have begun the process of planning to one day visit Africa. It may take me many years of planning and saving but I am sure the process will be worth it.
I'm also an avid shooter and beginner collector of fine vintage hunting firearms. I am privileged to own 2 original Oberndorf Mauser sporters in good hunting calibers (.30-06, 7x57 Mauser) that I hope to hunt with in the future. Also am beginning an obsession over double rifles, hope to own one and take it to Africa one day!
I've been lurking on this forum for over a year now reading hunting reports and dreaming of Africa, finally made an account and hope to dive into all this community has to offer going forward!
