Hello all,
My name is Greg and I've been hunting for the better part of 30 years with my family. It's mostly been deer hunting and bird hunting, but I've always had the itch to go on an African hunt.
I've put together quite a nice collection of rifles and shotguns for deer and birds, but last year I decided to really start socking some money away for an African trip in the future.
I was considering what rifle to purchase and after visiting Griffin & Howe quite a few times, the CZ 550 American safari magnum in .375 Holland and Holland seems to be a good choice for the first DG rifle.
I mounted a Leupold 2-7x33 with G4 reticle on it using Warne QD rings.
I intend on using it for black bear and russian boar this coming season in order to break it in and get comfortable with it… At least until I can get the Africa!

and now you have your light calibre rifle you can start looking for something a bit more in the medium range
oh and good you put New Jersey ,as when i am in the states it nearly ends up in an argument with some people when they ask where i am from, and i say Jersey. this leads to "no your not you dont sound like it"!! and i say i didnt say New Jersey i said Jersey , and they say yes but you dont sound like you are from there.........
so repeat this same conversation a few times
...till i eventually i give in and have to give a geography lesson, which as geography doesnt seem to be taught in usa schools too much is also a mission ......so after the 3rd or so time each trip of this, i just say zambia as some know where africa is
