Hello Everyone,

I am happy to have found this site and eagerly looking forward to learning more and more about African hunting.

Although I have over 30 years hunting experience, I have not hunted Africa yet but have always dreamed of it.

I have dreamed about it since I was a teenager and continue to build on my book and video library in the hopes of being able to hunt there one day.

Even when I lived on Kodiak Island in the mid-90's my friends jokingly called me "Bwana" because even there I talked about hunting Africa so much.

Any words of advice or guidance are always appreciated.

Take care and shoot straight.

Waidmannsheil!

Welcome to AH.
You are now going to find the way to Africa very quickly.
This site will connect you to all kinds of possibilities .....
Good luck, you will be hunting there sooner than you ever thought.

welcome to ah

What with the advertizing in your intro

I was wondering too SES???

Welcome to AH Red Rifle. As Brickburn has said you will not last long now before booking. There are some amazing deals in the "Great deals on hunts worldwide" section. I think you will be suprised just how little an introductory package can be, especially if you are flexible enough to purchase a cancellation hunt. Good luck.

do you not see continue (advertizing I-pad) & guidance (advertizing psychology school) underlined as a pop up.

no I do not see any thing, but welcome to AH, you find a ton of info to get r done

fixed my computer had a we care down load i did not know about and it was doing the pop up and

Welcome to AH Red Rifle 2!

Thanks everyone! There is so much to hunt there and so many destinations that I feel like a kid in a candy store! Where to begin?

I hunt for the experience, not necessarily for the record book. If an animal I take makes the record book it's just a fortunate byproduct of the hunt. My wife also likes to hunt but has never really looked into Africa much (her passion is bowhunting elk) but any hunt I go on she will as well. It's fantastic having a built in hunting partner!

I'm thinking maybe starting off with a good plains game hunt for us with a little tourism on the side? Any suggestions?

I always recommend Chris Troskie of CT-safaris, great hunts, great food, choice of high or low fence hunts in several provinces on large properties and personalized service (your party is normally the only ones in camp). Look him up in the search bar above and you will find plenty of great reviews. As for side trips there are plenty, best to speak with each PH and see what he recommends in his area. Cape Town is always a highly recommended tourist spot, I have not been there yet and everyone keeps letting me know what I have been missing so next trip will include Cape Town after my hunt.

Welcome to AH!

Thanks everyone for the tips and advice I've been getting so far on our first safari.

I have several outfits to look into from South Africa, does anyone have any information on hunting in Namibia, Botswana or Zimbabwe for plains game?
