Greetings from Africa

Welcome to tjoppa416! Please tell us a bit more about yourself...

Thanks Jerome well it’s a short story :), I started hunting from a young age with my dad, doing some guide work for bow hunters and biltong hunters in Limpopo throughout school holidays. As soon as my first gun licence (416 Rigby) was finalized I started stepping up, doing plains game trophy hunts in Mpumalanga and Limpopo but things went a bit slow at first as I was still studying for my BSc Zoology and time was not on my side, after the completion of my degree I stayed for a second and had some extra time, where I paid more attention to my hunting (Mpumalanga, Limpopo and Natal) and was fortunate to do some Big game hunts in Zimbabwe and RSA. After my study’s I started free lancing work in and about RSA but the dream of hunting outside the boarder’s caught my mind and soul.

Some say it’s the glips of light as the sun catches the buffalo’s horn in thick jess or that oh so strong smell of musk as u make your way on the track of your elephant, all I know is that it has a way of opening your eyes and bringing out a new side u never knew, and it’s that feeling that caught me and bread inside me…….
And so I started looking for opportunities, after about 4 months of freelancing I got a chance to live my dream fulltime in Mozambique.

Now I’m still hear, managing a beautiful camp in Niassa and doing hunts as it was intended to be done.:A Camping:

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ
