oh we had snow until day before yesterday it finally melted off.

The weather here this time of year is bipolar. It’s snowing and 20 one day and 75 and sunny the next.

What did that ram weigh? Aoudads are on my bucket list. Would a hunter be better served with a 30-06 with 180 grain bullets or a 9.3x62 with 250 grain accusing?

A big mature ram will weigh close to 300lbs. They are tough but very mortal. Either caliber will work just fine. I love an 06 and it’s my go too for just about everything. 180 grain TTSX or TSX is, imho, the perfect Aoudad medicine. We killed a huge ram this weekend with a 6.5 PRC. Perfect shot placement and that ram took about 4 steps and was dead as chivalry. Aoudad are like the majority of African animals in that their heart sits a bit low and forward as do the lungs. You want to shoot him in the point where the center line of the front leg and the lower 1/3 horizontal line on the body meet, assuming a perfect broad side shot. With that he be dead right then.
