Gracey Travel

I am sure that there are a lot of faithful followers and users of Gracey Travel. I have been a customer for over 20 years and have booked many flights and trips. (don't tell anyone but sone of these trips were not about hunting).
Here's what I wanted to share with out going into too much detail. My direct flight from Newark to Johannesburg was cancelled.
Now I needed to change all my connecting flights as well as the hotels and excursions I had already booked in Victoria Falls.
Gio and Debbie and all the staff at Gracey travel pulled an all nighter to get all my flights changed and to reschedule my excursions in Vic Falls, so I didn't miss trips though I had one day less in Victoria Falls.
It was truly amazing how Debbie and her staff put all this together in record time.
I true test of a service company like Gracey Travel is not how they handle things when they run smoothly, BUT how they react when things turn to poop!
My hats off to Debbie and her staff at Gracey Travel. They really came through when the chips were down.

Can you imagine trying to do all this by yourself if you booked your own flights?

I second this. Debbie has been great to work with. We've had some unplanned changes and she is just a pro at working the systems to your benefit.

In 2022 our delta flight out of Tucson was cancelled and had all the downstream flights hotels etc affected and Shawn at Gracy did the same kinda hard work magic to get everything rescheduled 2 days later.

Same just happened to my friend. Two days in a row cancelled flights for no apparent reason. Missed 2 days of his buffalo hunt. I wish he has taken my advice. Don't fly United!

the meme i posted above is equally applicable to Delta.

I always have a lot of PTO in my bank, so the extra day of travel through Doha/Dubai/Istanbul isn't an issue for me. And perhaps there are cases where Qatar/Emirates/Turkish flights get canceled, or they forget hunters' guns, but I've not heard of any.

In six trips with delta that was the only glitch we have had. Have flown Qatar twice with no problems.

In 2023, my Delta flight out to Joburg got cancelled and rescheduled to mid morning the next day. Shawn with Gracy handled the re-booking and hotel arrangements and other than a night in a very sketchy hotel in Atlanta that Delta arranged, everything else went off without a hitch. I’ve used Shawn/Gracy for all 7 of my African safaris and she also handled my travel arrangements for Alaska this year as well. I have always been impressed by their customer service and attention to detail.

And that right there is a big reason why to use a TA on these trips.

Totally agree, you may pay a little more but it will save you down the road. same thing with every other aspect of a safari.

Shawn at Gracy arranges all of my African trips. Never had a glitch that wasn’t speedily fixed. Well worth the small additional cost.

I’ve heard great things about Gracy but I sent them an email about arranging my trip next year and they never responded. After a couple of weeks I sent they same note to Travel Express and they responded the same day.

Not sure what I did wrong.

I’ve always called them to get things started. Then switched to emails. Still sucks that they didn’t respond .
