SW - I don't think so - France has introduced a whole load of additional restrictions which make buying a firearm very difficult. In my experience, Austrians speak excellent English.
Make sure that you get a condition report beforehand, ask about telephone bidding, and ask them if they can recommend a shipper. As a rule of thumb only, the cost of commission, shipping, import tax, etc. will be double the 'headline' price.
Meanwhile a wonderful set of Irish Elk horns: almost 9' wide and 5' tall, from Koller in Switzerland. Yours for around $15,000, plus shipping and so on. I wish the fellow who is making meatballs out of mammoth flesh would come up with some way to de-extinct these deer and sabre-tooth tigers.
