Going to try DRTs for the first time

I switched to the DRT for my first trip to Africa, loved them so much I switched for everything. Got full pass throughs on everything including lion and wildebeest, blew all the way through a big buck at 45 yards. Make sure everything is tuned and you should have no problems with them.
Thanks kal
Good to know you had great success.

I used the DRT, Magnus Stinger and Silver Flames for my Africa trip. All broadheads flew perfect and almost the same as my field points out to 50 yards, all 125 grain versions with the same Carbons Express Maxima red arrows. Silver flames had a bit more drop, 2" at 50 than the other 2. Took 2 animals with the Magnus, 1 with the Silver flame and 6 with the DRTs. the DRTs and Magnus, both with the bleeder blades do more blood loss than the Silver flame. The DRTs (and silver flames) are a "tougher" more rugged broadhead than the Magnus. I used 1 DRT for taking 3 animals, real easy to resharpen. I just bought the DRTs in the fall of 2015. I have used the Magnus for 15+ years and have taken a lot of game with quick kills. I have taken 4 animals total with the Silver Flames, but no bleeder blades is the only knock that I have against them. My broadhead of choice for my hunting will now be the DRTs.

I love the DRTs. I usually get about 4 inch difference left with my heads vs. fieldtips at 30 yards. Super accurate, very sharp and very durable. I shoot the single bevel and I blew through my lion in my avatar, sable, 2 gemsbok, wildebeest, multiple hogs, waterbuck, impala, nyala, two kudu and completely severed the spine of a zebra (no pass through there) while shooting them. My wife took quite a few animals including gemsbok and wildebeest shooting only 50 lbs and the 100 grain dbl bevel. So far I've only had one bleeder blade curl a bit and that was on the lion.

Well I learned something here. I never knew there were wild cows.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
