Ghunt8 AKA Todd Reed is a scammer!

That card may not be photo shopped - likely didn’t learn to write in America though. Looks like felt tip pen. The hatched 7 is more common in many foreign countries and the cap G construction is even more telling, possibly Asia origin?? Could be either male or female. Matters little though with lost $. Dang :(
The hash 7 is also prevalent in French , that is how you’d likely see it written on the east coast of Canada or through Quebec for instance, not saying the scammer is from there. Either way hope the o.p. Can get reimbursed.

I think comm guys in the USMC hash the sevens as well. When I was a young lance corporal on a NGF team the first time I went into the S-2 for orders from the regimental ops-chief I noticed the comm guys with the FDC writing like that. Don’t discount that it could be an American criminal.

I now require a phone call for any transaction.
No call No deal.
100% success since the protocol.
Sorry for your loss, it sucks & it’s happened to me.
USPS…don’t get me started, good luck.

M.O. Guy lives alone, works all day or nobody is home when the mail is delivered, The crook checks his mailbox, uses a fake I.D. to cash the money order. FCOL, make a phone call or don't buy from someone with no trade history. On top of that, want to buy ads SCREAM please scam me.

I have been the target of multiple scam attempts on AH. As part of my job I have had extensive training on how to sniff out scammers, phishers, etc. etc. and they are generally stupid and lazy people that will make a mistake in most cases that allow you to pickup on their attempted thievery if you take a step back scrutinize every aspect of the interaction. Trust is earned the hard way and doesn't come easy.

Raptor 59 - I hate that you were a victim of this spineless cowardly scumbag. I don't have noslers but I have some PRIVI 286gr bullets in 9.3 that I can spare as well if it will get you by. Just pm me and I am happy to send them over.

Be careful out there.

Yeah, when I was taking notes as surveyor tech, I was taught to use hash mark on seven to help differentiate between two and one.

Well, we have his name and address, anybody feel like going on a quest?
Scammers are stupid to steal from people who know how to use firearms and hunt things that hide well.
I know that sounds like a threat but it was meant to be slightly humorous.
Sorry you were taken, that really sucks.
Been there done that ;)

Might say I was younger, stupider, probably no less bolder now, just more sensible. Luckily it turned out fine, well, not quite like the scammer had intended..... no one was injured but some bartering took place :)

Must have been hard for that scammer to find his wallet with jockey shorts pulled up over his face. :D

Well this is the kind of post I hate to make. I was contacted by Ghunt8 regarding my interest in purchasing some 9.3mm 286 gr Partitions. Relatively new member with few posts. That usually puts me off a purchase. He indicated he had 4 boxes and sent me a picture of the boxes with a sticky attached with the current date and time. I negotiated a purchase of two boxes and paid by USPS money order sent priority mail. The money order was delivered, cashed and I haven’t heard from this individual again. His name is Todd Reed 2011 Queens Highway Kerhonksen, NY

Do not buy from this individual. He joined in the July 2024 timeframe and has commented on various posts. I don’t know if anyone else has tried to purchase from him, but do not.
thx for this info.
has he any comment or rebuttal?

That’s terrible and sad.

If I’m making a purchase if any value I insist on a FaceTime video so I can see the product live. Did that with a leica rangefinding bono purchase on from another site and was happy with the result. Had to fake a live video.
hard to fake i believe and agree...

Definitely Photoshop or possibly AI generated pic. Last year I did the same as a test for another member to prove that even pics these days are not trustworthy. And I’m no photoshop or AI guru.

I detest these idiots and am frustrated that it is still so prevalent with only shrugged shoulders as a reply from authorities. Same with phone scams.

my feeling exactly..no threat, you are simply stating the obvious.
my line i used when i was few decades younger..."nothin on this earth i can't track, trail, or tree...nothin... now I'm lucky to track down my cheaters...and when wife says there on top of your head, i feel obligated to tell 1 of my great white hunter stories.. had to be there

is posting the paper with date, time, user, in the photo still relevant? any benefit?

I would be contacting the post office
postal service will be about as useful as a hand brake on a kayak on this issue from what I have seen in the past unfortunately

Well if I ever need a questing buddy I know who to call!! A couple of old (ish) guys should strike fear in anybody when they show up on your doorstep. Old guys usually have some kind of equalizer on them. Maybe we should ask @justgina to ride shotgun?
I got to "help" a few times repossessing a few farm implements..

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
