My 37” gemsbok wall pedestal this is a great space saving form

55" for the female in the back with longer horns, 53" for the male up front. Overall height with pedestal is 105"

Pedestals are far because you can customize them to your space.

going in April on first time to So Africa and want to take a Gemsbuck and Kudu but with limited wall space (height) that is I need to know how tall the mounts would be from brisket to tip of horns if someone would be kind enough to let me know that would be great. my wife said no mounts unless they are in the barn but I wore her down to these two, (don't know what she will cost me for this) but it will be worth it. thanks Jim
Let me ask you something. Did your wife make the mortgage payments alone? Probably not so why does she think the whole house is hers? Maybe remind her that you helped with the mortgage. I agreed to no mounts in the bedroom but still have wildlife art in the bedroom.

Love the WP and the double stack, can’t wait to get mine back in a few months!

well after 47 years of marriage I think I need to give her some space on this considering all the different hobbies and boats I have had including learning to fly a plane.I think I can build a very nice trophy room in the barn along with the reloading and gun room next to it.the barn is 40x70 so plenty of room

I just received an email from my taxidermist that all of my mounts are finished just waiting on the craters to build crates for shipping . The pics look great but the pose on the roan isn’t exactly what I asked for but is still stunning! Klipsringer, bushbuck, springbok, blesbok and gemsbok in the shipment as well.

My taxidermist said he would correct the pose on my roan and it is already remounted. The original pose was with the chin pointing down at the neck and looked very unnatural to me. I looked at hundreds of reference photos and saw no live roan with this posture, only in mounted animals. What is y’all’s opinion on this pose?

Are you able to provide pictures?

If I can figure out how to send pictures, I’m pretty much computer illiterate.

The chin down pose is supposed to look calm/relaxed. Tipping the chin down does pop the horns up and away from the wall so on some animals it is useful on kudu for example, but not roan. . .I’ve never liked it. And actually prefer the chin slightly up and alert. Neither pose is wrong, just a matter of personal preference.

Just drag and drop any pictures directly into your post and they will upload automatically.

Or in the Reply Section, click on the box that says Attach Files.
And go from there.

I tend to agree with you about it not being the best pose. My understanding is that they changed it for you, and I think you'll be happy that they did. Did you mention anything about the right ear?

I did and said they were still in the shaping stage when the picture was taken.

Yeah not a very popular roan pose. These poses started with sable I believe bc making a sable look like a chess piece became popular. With their larger sweeping horns, it did make a striking pose. But even those tend to be straight forward and not turned left or right as this one. Not so much so with a roan. Nice that it was still in the drying phase enough for them to redo it.

I actually kind of like for a sable or roan pedestal, to look like he is about to ram his adversary. It brings out the horns even more.
