Gander Mountain

I wasn't a fan of gander mountain when they insisted i pay for a gun in advance before they would ship it to me then lost it for 6 weeks. Only to find out they shipped it to the wrong state.

I like your sig line, and I find it to be absolutely true for easterns, but less so for Rio Grandes. But at that, may not be a big difference in birds, but the terrain. The place where I hunt easterns is thick and very rugged (between St. Francisville, LA and Jackson, LA). As thick as it is, good, natural cover can be hard to come by.

In Texas, I've hunted them mostly in fairly open country where I could hunker down behind bushes or in tall grass, and still have extraordinarily good visibility in all directions.

I wish Sportsmans Warehouse would open a store in the Houston area(preferably Baytown) I always liked those stores, typical big store employees for the most part but a great selection and dam good reloading dept.

Didn't Sportsman file for Bankruptcy? Or was that Sports Authority?

I like to support local shops whenever possible those guys will help you out more when things go south if you find the right place.

Sportsmans filed for reorganization and was brought out of their financial trouble by selling about half of their stores to a company that runs and stocks almost identically to them. I know they closed several locations. They are opening more locations now so it looks like their problems are over. Sports Authority did go out I believe, looks like Dick's has taken their place as they have opened 3 or 4 in Houston recently along with their field and stream store. Field and Stream seems to be a gander mountain quality of a store.

Thanks, Sportsman (closest) is 90 miles away in columbia, SC. Dick's is a well,, Dick, more running and biking and modeling, their "hunting and shooting" section is a small corner.

Yep, for shooting sports, they're an awful choice.

Stopped by our local Gander last week, picked up a Super Vinci at 40% off! Not a bad deal!

The Frisco store has all of their firearms 25-30% off.. they haven't marked them down 40% yet..

They did have 1 remaining Benelli Super Vinci on the shelf in Real Tree Max though..

@huntressinheels has been wanting a new shotgun... I snatched it up immediately..

The store in Lubbock says mark downs happen on Thursdays. I caught it the first day of 40% off. This store will be fully shut down on the 29th I think it is, so your store might be open longer and hasn't pushed it down as much. It's pretty empty now, but it's 80% off most of it, guns and ammo still 40%
