I work with a great outfitter in New Zealand, who focuses on free range Red Stag hunt, Chamois, Tahr and Fallow Deer. Nice ranch style accommodations on 25,000 acres of pristine New Zealand countryside.

He has some very good pricing for his hunts. Prices are inclusive of guide, lodge, meals, VAT, airport transfer and trophy fees.

Free range Red Stag hunt, no size limit and some stag over 400" have been taken in the area 5 day 4 night, including stag $4,750

Free range Red Stag and Chamois hunt $7,250

Free range Red Stag and Fallow Deer $7,500

That's a very good price for both free range animals. I would guess stag's would go silver medal SCI. Would be difficult IMO to get a gold medal stag free range.

just like a big whitetail, it's hard but they are there. and without a size limit there is no up charge for a bigger animal.

good point

NZ is on my destination list, and red stag one of my desired trophies. Is there a time limit on this offer? The mounts from my first hunt are on their way this month, so I can start to dream of the next endeavor..

James.................................Is the red stag/fallow deer combo still a 5 day hunt? .................FWB

James,
How much is the deposit? Does this outfitter have a website we can look at for more details/images?
Are the first two pictures red stag? They don't look like fallow deer I found on a Google search.

Hello,
I am currently "shopping" for a NZ hunt to take place in June of 2016. The hunt I am trying to plan would include a red stag >= 350" and a bull tahr. My wife would accompany me as an observer.....nice accommodation is preferred since she will be joining me.
What would pricing / terms be for the hunt described above for June 2016? What are deposit terms to hold the pricing /date?What are fees for an extra day or two of sightseeing?

Thanks

I've got my fingers crossed that I can. Hafta talk it over with my better half first, since I'm only four months from my first hunt trip!

:E Ok:I'm not sure how much external peer pressure will help, but I'll pass it along

James, that is an interesting offer for sure. Red stag is on my bucket list, but I'm not the least bit interested in flying half way around the world to hunt a small high fenced place. Sound like yours is a real free range hunt. What is the average size stag taken on these hunts? Is there an opportunity for the wife to shop a day or two as well? 2016 is my target. Thanks for the help.

do you have any pictures of the fallow stags , james that you expect to able to hunt ?
and are the prices in usd or nzd ?

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
