Always good to have the kids out for a day. We headed into some steep broken country early am.

my hunt mate and his son in the photo`s below with a young sambar hind taken early yesterday morning.
The mate turns them into suasages,pork/venison/fennel/chilli etc...nice!

There are plenty to chose from, but these photos each represent something special to me. My father and I returned to Africa for our second trip in April of 2012. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of dad's chemo just a few weeks earlier. He wasn't 100%, but we're both glad we went!

Never too old...

Last week I guided Brian to his first trophy deer at the tender age of 73....and seven weeks after a hip replacement to boot! A fine pair of battle-scarred old bucks...

Cheers

Only a few more days to enter your pictures... Don't miss out! The contest will end on Friday, April 19th, 2013 at midnight Pacific Standard Time.

At that time nine pictures will be selected as finalists by a panel of three judges, all members of AH including myself. Each judge will choose their top three pictures which will be finalists. The nine pictures selected as finalists will then be posted on April 23rd, 2013 in this thread and members of AH will then be allowed to place one vote for their favorite picture from amongst the finalists (judges cannot vote). Voting by AH members will take place from April 23rd until April 30th, 2013 (at noon Pacific Standard Time). The finalist with the most votes will be the winner. In the case of a tie the winner will be selected by the panel of three judges from the pictures that have tied. The winner will be announced on May 2nd, 2013 in this thread.

Here's one of Hank, my Treeing Walker coonhound, with a coon bayed on the ground. This was an odd day! Notice the very low light and snow on the ground. Usually our raccoons here in North Dakota would not be out and active in conditions like this, but this one was feeding in a cornfield in late December. Hank enjoys his coon hunting but is also a really good mountain lion dog - and my best friend!
this is a cool pic. love the expression on that dog's face.

Hello,
It is not world record, but nice. It was 128 cm (50,39 inches) long. The base was 41 cm (16,14 inches) the horns are touching, abutting.. ..

Thanks! Being a coonhound, Hank of course has a love/hate relationship with raccoons! :)

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
