sorry for voting should have known better then that. Was a great contest and my son will have a hard time sleeping tonight as he is going through the roof now with excitement.Good luck to brickburn and his daughter.I think we both have done a good job since both are into hunting and both contested should be proud.

No need to apologize... Please check my counts and make sure that there is no discrepancy!

Jerome, your math is right on the money.
The only vote that you did not address in the explanation is dave 85. he voted but did not stay specifically within the letter of the rules. So, it is a TIE. 59 to 59.

Congratulations. I am glad your son is bouncing off the wall. He should be.
I know someone else who is doing the same!!
You judges have some hard work ahead of you. Good Luck and thanks for the effort.
Great contest and thanks to HARTZVIEW for the motivation for all the chatter!

That hurt my brain trying to count those votes.I did it once and came up with the same numbers. That will work for me and you judges have a hard job ahead of you.A big thanks to the site and hartzview for giving my son this chance.

Thanks BRICKBURN.
You are right I did not count dave85 post as a vote as there is no name of the animal, picture or member name... Nor did I count Tom071 post as it is not clear who or what is "woodie".

Thanks billc.
I know what you mean about making your brain hurt trying to count those votes... The funny thing is that I tried to make it easier this time by opening up the voting to the members and look what happened! Oh well! :bonk:

As soon as the votes are in I will announce the winner.

I figured it would make some traffic for he site. There are a lot of people who hunt that got to see the site for the time and enjoyed it.
Keep up the good work.
Don't bang your head to hard. :)

I think you did a great job on the contest. Not sure if there is a easy way to do one of these.I just think it is great there are good people out there willing to do this for us members.I have never seen a hunting site that gave hunts away so you built this site around some first class people.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Jacques Spamer for offering a sensational prize, at his expense, in these difficult times, one which has given all of us here a plausable excuse to share our hunting memories with others and for the rest of us to enjoy seeing those memories.

The generousity displayed and the goodwill and nature in which this comp was conducted is testiment to the caliber of people who frequent here.

Lastly, I would personally like to thank all those that contributed. I have very much enjoyed living vicariously through your experiences around the globe.
The thing that is very evident to me, that this comp has highlighted, is the immense sense of pleasure that hunting as a sport brings to many people, young, old, male, female all parts of the globe weather it be bird hunting with a favourite hound, deer hunting in U.S etc, it doesn't matter, the pictures all have one thing in common, happy hunters in the outdoors all doing what we all love to do, hunt !

Thank-you again Jacques, Jerome and all those that participated and my congrats to the eventual lucky winner.

Paul.

Good luck to the 2 finalists! Thank you very much Paul and everybody else for the kind words and thank you's. It is appreciated very much from our side and Hartzview Hunting Safaris are looking forward on supporting AH.com for years to come.

We will know who the winner is shortly!

Best regards,

Jacques

Paul T you are right on the money there.First Hartzview for giving us all the chance to win such a great prize. To jerome for making the best hunting site I have ever been on.Then a post that does show how we all love hunting so much.I was amazed when I seen we were one of the picture even picked as there was so many great pic's posted. Was glad to see how so many still love hunting as there is not the new people being brought in to the sport like when I started hunting.I have relived my son's hunt over and over since we hunted that bull and look forward to getting him out hunting or fishing any chance I get. Thanks again to all that made this possible.

Just thought I would share with you a link here on AH.com to Jerome's "Ultimate Safari Planning Guide"
I found it to be an invaluable tool for planning my first hunt in RSA last May.
Planning the trip turned out to be a great part of the fun.

Have a super trip!
