I have a .30-06 pre 64. The original trigger was set at 11 pounds pull! A gunsmith was able to get It to almost 3. I finally conceded that I was never selling the rifle and needed to make it more pleasant to shoot and had a Timney put in. The gunsmith actually bought the original assembly from me to use for parts. The new trigger is Much more friendly and indeed helps me be more accurate.
I would not buy the rifle placed by the op based on legitimate questions concerning the barrel

I'm of the opinion that these are the nicest and simplest triggers to come on a factory rifle. To quote another poster "a 3-toed monkey can adjust them and get a good result".
