I understood he was talking about Australia. I can’t recall the name of the river leaving Darwin, but my guide told me there were photos of troops swimming in it during WW2 no worry of crocs but said a person wouldn’t make it across today. I was really impressed how wild the Northern Territory is today. We saw tons of crocs hunting buffalo, many in the 12-14 foot range waiting on edge of floodplain. I hunted during wet season in January on a large ranch. He is talking about Australia, Crocs were shot right up to 1971 in the NT & 1974 in Queensland, there were plenty still even then but very smart & nocturnal mostly, even around Darwin & just out of town, now days full time Rangers & Trappers working to take out most big Croc in the Darwin Harbour & problem Crocs in Cattle country.
Actually the .303Brit was an illegal caliber in the NT with out a special permit, not that a lot of people kept to the law !
