I’m continuing to sell some of the guns that I don’t anticipate using in the future. The rifle is about 10 years old and I’m the original owner. The only modification is the addition of a 1 inch Decelerator recoil pad. The stock was cut to maintain the original overall length, which is 13 5/8. I have reloading components that I will offer at a good price to the buyer. It is in excellent condition and has been fired at the range on a number of occasions. I have never hunted with it. I have always maintained the gun properly and it is totally free of any corrosion or metal wear. The wood is also an excellent condition.

$1,795 shipped in the Continental US.

Numerous additional photos sent by request. Please PM if interested. Jeff

Which barrel profile is it, or alternatively, what does it weigh?

It’s the lighter of the two profiles. I think that’s designated as a C profile. I don’t have a scale that can provide an accurate weight, but I’d guess it’s a little over 8 pounds. Definitely lighter than the 458 I have listed here currently.

I e been on the hunt for the heavier model, but they’re tough to come by!

Yes, they are. My own impression is that the C profile barrel is the one to get. This cartridge doesn’t kick that much unless you loaded up to 2300-2400 ft./s with a 400. But closer to original ballistics with modern bullets, 2150 or so feet per second, works great from everything I’ve read or been told, including from PHs. Haven’t done it myself. But with those ballistics, it’s fairly pleasant to shoot.

Decent price for someone wanting a 450-400 Ruger No.1
From the picts it does look to be a C weigh5 barrel.
Mine is pleasant to shoot even with factory recoil pad.

I have not heard back from the prospective buyer, so this Rifle is available.

Here’s my bottom line on this. I need $1500 net to me. I recently shipped the 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger #1 listed here to a fellow in New York State and shipping cost $185. I was shocked, but that’s the way it is from the West Coast at this point. So, if you live closer, shipping would be less. As stated in the original post, I have a considerable amount of loading components to sell with it, which I will offer at a very good price. Those include DGX and DGS bullets, four boxes of new Hornady brass, dies and a few other items. I don’t want to sell those separately at this point unless the buyer doesn’t want them. More pictures are also available. PM for those or questions please.

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
