I bought this about a month ago.

Mounted a scope, got it on paper. Went to DSC and got bit by the Bradshaw bug!

So making room in the stable.

As the Bradshaw will be a 45-90, I decided this will be the first to go....have not owned it long enough to get attached!!

I plan to keep the 1.5-5x Leupold, so pricing just the rifle and rings. If buyer must have the scope, we can try to work out a package deal.

$1,500 ftf for rifle and rings. Plus ship and transfer if I have to ship from my ffl. Hopefully pics tell the story. I cannot attest to anything other than it is in nice shape, goes bang and puts rounds close together at 50 yards, lol.

Man. Nice! That's a sweet one. If this had been posted last fall, I'd have been all over it for IL's new straight wall single shot rules for deer hunting.

Looked closely at one last year for slightly less (no scope rings) and the wood quality of this rifle puts that one to shame. Ohio is a straight wall cartridge as well for deer so these are not easy to run across.

That went quickly, so someone is keen, as would be the case with wood like that.

Someone just saved me some money. I looked at it and thought about it then logged out.

I then decided that I wanted it and it was sold. Snooze you loose. But now I am still thinking about that 375 #1

FWIW, Ruger's website dates that serial number to 1993 (I've long thought that Ruger is much more organized with their record keeping than many of the other major manufacturers). Congrats to buyer and seller!

Gorgeous No.1. Congrats to buyer and seller. Well done!

Nice rifle!
I’ve always thought that for a handloader, a Ruger #1 in 45/70 is about the most versatile rifle you could own.
Great looking wood too!
You can say that again!

I have killed small game with lead round balls with MV of around 1,000 fps and I have loaded 405gr Woodleigh to 2,050 (this in several previous No 1 45-70s dating back to the early 70s).

Very fun guns to load for. Especially the older ones with a long throat.

Rifle has been dropped off at the shipping FFL.

Thanks Ron! Enjoy!

Sounds great Tim! If USPS tracking is accurate, Snail Mail (Priority Mail) came through this afternoon.
Looking forward to a call from my favorite FFL!
