I have for sale a pre-REM Dakota 76 in 458 Lott. Unfired, upgraded wood, knurled bolt knob, upgraded sights. 15 3/8 LOP. $8k to your FFL.
I have a bunch of ammo that could sell, if helpful. Trying to go with videos in an attempt to show give better perspective. Natural light - no editing.

If this provides a direct link to all of my photos, please let me know. Lol

Your links both worked for me. They showed a video each.
Good luck on the sale.

14-5/16” of wood is a LOT of wood. You’ll have no issues selling such a special gun. That is officially the longest stocked Dakota I’ve ever seen. (I’m tall so I appreciate this a great deal)

Can you please measure the distance from the point the cheek piece ends to the back of the recoil pad? Thank you.

Wow! Scope included?

Guys this is a great deal for a beautiful Dakota with custom LOP. I looked at this earlier today before it was listed and just didn't buy both of his Dakotas at the same time. Seller is a great communicator!

4 3/8” from rim of the step-down. Measurement is deceiving in pic.

Thank you for the measurement and picture! I have spent the last twenty minutes or so trying to convince myself the lop would work. Put a limbsaver pull on on a couple of my 14.25”+ rifles and just can’t get cheek weld to work with piece placement. I’m sure it will work perfectly for someone! Thanks again!

Are you thinking it’s too short? You could change the pad out to 1” if you need additional length. There is also 1/2” between the decorative step down and where your check would actually weld.

No sir. I’m not a knuckle dragger with a giraffe neck. :-) It is too long without cutting the stock. I’m 6’4”. Have a friend that is 6’10 with a 15”+ LOP. Sent to him last night.

While I haven’t met you and done a gun fit, I would think at 6’4” with a appx 36-37” sleeve, if you’re of medium build and a Western European skull shape, you’d typically have a rifle with a 14-3/8” to 14-3/4” length of pull, 3/4” longer than that for a shotgun. All this, on the average.

If you’re not getting good sight picture at these lengths, it’s probably that your scope is too high. You need a straight tube and low rings, roughly the same sight picture as the irons. If your face is falling off the shadow line cheek piece your shooting too erect, rather than leaning into the stock which is preferred form and reduces recoil.

Spot on. 36” sleeves. 14.25” LOP on all rifles I have had built. I shot “standard” 13.5ish factory rifles for decades and I am still comfortable shooting 13.5” on a lot of rifles. Just seems a shame to cut this one down when there is likely some Hilltopper in need. :-)

Fwiw, I am 6,2”, have longer arms but shoot a long length of pull. It’s about your head position… and in my case, having smaller shoulders.
