One of two 505 Gibbs that Mike Roden of Granite Mountain Arms built for himself. As new. Sights still need to be filed in. Excellent stock layout with straight grain through wrist and nice contrast. Ebony tip with cross bolts, English pattern open grip and cheek piece for right hand shooter. Integral front and rear sight bases, front sling base.

Have 100 rounds of Nosler solids (Norma, made in Sweden).
$17000 with Ammo shipped and insured

Brand new AHR 404 Jeffrey. This is the identical rifle still showing up on Wayne’s website as “Sold” under “Available Now.”
I didn’t like the standard engraving he does when he fills the bolt head so I had him Tig a Oberndorf 98 bolt that looks much better. This is a travel the world with one rifle set up. Includes the pop up rear aperture sight, great stock and rock solid feel. Unfired and exactly as received. $5700 shipped.

Here’s the AHR 404 Jeffery ad.

Very handsome works of art!

I’ll consider trades too. Interests include .375s, hi grade shotguns, Piotti or Perazzi MX28, or MX410, cased BPE double rifles or Farquharsons

Best
Bill

Very nice rifles

That 505 is stunning.

New prices:
505 Gibbs $15,000 alone or 15,800 with ammo

404 Jeffery $5000 ($995 off absolutely new rifle as purchased a few months ago from Wayne at AHR).

Thanks everyone. George Caswell at Champlin Arms inspected the 505 yesterday and advised me that he would list it at $20k if I were to consign it. He is a big fan of the 505 and this rifle in particular. He encouraged me to consider keeping it and even bringing it to Africa over my 500/465 double.

My shoulders are damaged from contact sports and frankly I have a have my eye on a shotgun that is consigned so I can’t trade hence the reasons for listing.

I’m a new member here but have been on AR forum for 10 years. George at Champlins will vouch for the Gibbs and me as a person. I’m a physician and happy to FaceTime with the rifles as well as provide additional references.

Strange....are you a dealer? apart from being a physician with damaged shoulders from contact sports buying and selling new rifles and no further contribution here? Especially buying a 505 Gibbs in that condition(yours not the rifles)......

No, not a dealer. I have a 2 and 4 year old and work a lot. I don’t have much time to be on internet forums. I keep my mouth shut and ears open and try to learn what I can. If I have something meaningful to add or a legitimate question I will but as I have never been to Africa and this is an Africa centric forum, I don’t want to waste bandwidth.

I have decent disposable income that allows me to buy what I want, sadly less time at this point in my life to hunt. Before I started working and had kids I wanted badly to hunt Africa. I still do but I want to hunt North America more; I especially want go on another mountain goat hunt while I’m still youngish and focus on quail hunting as I’m fortunate to live in Texas and it’s easily accessible for me with my other obligations.
I’m selling these two rifles and I’m offering them here first otherwise look for them at markup when they get traded back to a dealer.

Stop being so cynical.... :D.....seems like a reasonable answer...... :A Tease:

Not for sale, just sharing pics—this is the 500/465
Have dies but need to get other components so I can start loading. Graham Wright’s book is indispensable

You have great taste in rifles for sure! Best of luck on selling them.

So not sure what happened. Picture 1 is junk and picture 3 is someone else’s Royal. I saved it to compare the engraving on mine to it.
The others are of my rifle

If I could handle more than my 375 H&H, I’d consider your 404 J. But being “long in the tooth” and far from a good old shoulder, I’ll stick with my 375.
Very handsome double! Envious! Also envious of the Texas quail hunting! My GSP has probably seen his last hunt at over 14, but has been a great hunting companion from Montana to Texas!

Im after a 505 shame your not in Europe or better still the UK. Even have a very nice 375 I can trade in with you. Best of luck with the sale and that is one stunning 505. I would keep it if it was mine
