Thanks for catching that! I copied and pasted info a friend send me. New to this site and not knowledgeable on this rifle.

Pretty nice Timber on that rifle

Dakota really knew how to build rifles.....that's a beauty and a very fair price..........FWB

It's built on a Dakota action, but I have very serious doubts it was built by Dakota Arms. The sloppy metalwork on the quarter rib and rear sight and the flats in the buttstock would have never got out the door. Who built this rifle?

Good catch. I can't see that getting out the door at Dakota either, even in their dark days. The metal work all around just doesn't have the Dakota look to it, and the caliber marking on the barrel isn't correct either. Unfortunate, it may still be a nice rifle.

I did some more digging. Being this rifle was passed down to me I didn’t have much info on it.

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
