I originally received this Cody Ballard Highwall 30-40 Krag around the year 2000. The owner of the company was hoping to be able to sell these guns to hunters so he wished I used a scope on it and that why no iron sights. At the time I had a Nikon scope that I put on it. With whatever factory ammo I found back then (can't remember the manufacturer) it put a 3 shot group cutting each other at 100 yards consistently AS LONG AS I just cradled the forestock. If I gripped the forestock the group opened up to where the shots didn't touch each other. I took it hunting once in Texas for an Axis doe for some meat. After that I cleaned it and put it in climate controlled storage until just a few months ago. I probably shot a total of maybe 15 rounds through it, maybe. Everything including the bore is in excellent condition. Only a single ding in the stock that I can see and its picture is here.
$2,300 plus shipping. My FFL won't ship to: AK, CA, HI, IL, NJ, NY
A couple of things I was told at the time. First the firing pin is made from cast iron (just as the original) so absolutely never dry fire it. Secondly, every part is identical to the original Ballards and can be interchanged. This is what I was told.
LOP is 14 1/4"
Barrel Length is 27"
Thanks for looking.
