[WTS/WTT] Two Fly Rods – Orvis Rocky Mountain & St. Croix – $200 Each Shipped (OBO/Trades Welcome)

Thinning out a few things I just don’t use much anymore. I’ve got two fly rods for sale or trade:

1. Orvis Rocky Mountain Series

  • 7'9" 5-weight
  • Lightly used and well cared for
  • Comes in an aluminum tube

2. St. Croix (believed to be 8')

  • 3/4 weight
  • Also in good condition
  • Includes aluminum tube case

Price: $200 each, shipped CONUS
Think that's high? Let's talk. Think it's low? Still, let's talk.
Trades: Open to trades of just about any kind—gear, reels, rods, etc.

Happy to provide more pics or answer questions. Thanks for looking!

I am listing here first, If not allowed please delete. I know its not trully africa safari related but I think a few folks on here may appreciate a good flyrod.
I will take pay pal, Venmo and a personel check /Money order. If you want to chat, pm me for contact info.

I would read the tube cap on the one as a 3/4 wt 9’ in length. If in orginal form.
I cannot read the other.
That is correct. I put 8ft in the original post. It is 9ft. My mistake.
I can take any other detailed pics you would like.
The guides and rods appear to be in good shape to me.

I am flexible on the prices, just like to see them go to some one that would use and appreciate them

Greetings fellow Fly Fishers,

The Orvis “Rocky Mountain Series” of rods are IMO one of the most underrated fly rods on earth.

Orvis didn’t (doesn’t) ? sand the spiral fiber off the exterior of those, making them very strong and not very reflective of sunlight.
I have two of them, one is a 2-Weight, paired with a tiny Ryall reel, I use for grayling and small “beaver pond trout” here in Alaska, also for bluegills (“bream”) in the Lower 48 USA States.

The other is a 10 Foot, 7-Weight, 3 piece that wears a Billy Pate “Bonefish” model reel.
It has been my favorite fly rod and reel for well over 30 years.
With it I have fished in many places, including but not limited to South Africa, Ecuador, Guatemala, Belize, Grand Cayman, Hawaii, Alaska, Occupied California, Montana, Idaho, Missouri, Florida and several other locations, perhaps not quite as memorable.
I have some more expensive fly rods (Sage and Walton Powell for example).
But, if I was forced to own but one fly rod, it would definitely be my Orvis Rocky Mt. 7W for sure.

I do not have any experience with the St. Croix rods but, I’ve never heard anyone complain about them.
My best guess is that they are good solid rods.

62flint, good luck with the sale.
Your prices seem more than fair, great bargains for some lucky buyer.

Tight Lines,
Velo Dog.
