Flashlights

I used one of these on an elk hunt last year, it was rained on and frozen nearly the entire trip and never missed a step. I used it for over a week and I am still on the same set of batteries. https://www.zoro.com/princeton-tec-...2slzVFhb8eahvXM55bTA_iIsM76ZsyMBoCo2UQAvD_BwE

This is the light I carry around the farm 90% of the time, cheap and has never failed me. https://www.amazon.com/Streamlight-...streamlight+flashlight&qid=1581449380&sr=8-54

This is what I put on all the nightstands. https://www.amazon.com/SureFire-Combat-Single-MaxVision-Technology/dp/B06XY7JLBZ/ref=sr_1_13?crid=S3LAO12LKY0V&dchild=1&keywords=surefire+flashlight&qid=1581449461&sprefix=surefire,aps,229&sr=8-13

Head Lamps all the way

The headlamp issue is trying to use a headlamp with a scope. It kinda doesn’t work...

For any other purpose, yeah, love me some headlamps. Heck, I use them in the garage near daily. It’s all just a question of purpose and situation...

Are you trying to use the head lamp to shoot with?
I've never had a problem shooting a scope while wearing a head lamp...however I wasn't using it for illumination at the time?

Watching the show Predator Pursuit has a 4 part series night hunting in Africa (on this month) They're using high-power head lamps and shooting with scopes...

Fenix LD30. The mode toggle is on the side so the main tail switch is simply on and off, with mode memory. Hat band clip for hands free. Runs off an 18650, which can be found USB rechargeable, or two CR123s. Small, compact, non-tactical. $80 though. I’ve found with lights you do kind of get what you pay for, up to a certain extent.

For headlamps I like the Black Diamond Storm.

Punch in LED head torch on the search bar for eBay. Up will come these $10 torches from China. Possibly it will even include delivery. Coupled with some quality 18650 batteries you have a belter of a torch.

I got roped into a Flashlight phase. "Acebeam" in particular .. thsi is LEP

I've got a mix of high dollar and low cost flashlights ranging from surefire and streamlight offerings to $3 LED lights from Wal-Mart...

The absolute best bang for the buck I have seen in flashlights in a very long time is Olight.. We're talking surefire level (or better in some cases) performance.. for a good bit less money..

All of my weapons mounted lights are Olight these days (Ive replaced all of my old streamlights that I used to have mounted)... they are half the size, half the weight, and produce 2-4x as many lumen as my older streamlights..

And my favorite handheld light is the Olight Warrior 3s (which also comes with a tape switch and a weapons mount if you prefer to use it on a weapon as opposed to hand carrying it)..

Their 15th anniversary sale starts in 2 days.. some of their stuff is going to be SIGNIFICANTLY discounted (the $175 Warrior 3s is going to be on sale for $104)...

Im planning on grabbing a couple more PL Mini 2 Valkries as soon as the sale starts (awesome low cost weapons light for a pistol..)..

I have an expensive, LED Lenser that is an amazing light, but I rarely use it.

For a well built, inexpensive little flashlight that will also double as a headlamp, I use a Coast flashlight. I've also used the purpose built headlamps and they are good value too. They make nice, inexpensive gifts to leave with the PH or trackers.

Coast lights are available at Home Depot

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
