Hi guys i don't just hunt Bush pigs I fish for bass. Competitively and social. I do fish a lot of lakes in South Africa. But my favorite laks are Lake materi in Zimbabwe and Lake letsibogo in botswana. My biggest bass 13.007lb. Would like to hear from fellow bass fishermen.

@Izakbass I cut my teeth fishing bass here in the northeastern US. My dad has fished tournaments with a club for years again since he retired (it took a hiatus when I was a kid for quite some time). In our area it is a mix, lakes for Largemouth but also several rivers and lakes with very good smallmouth fishing. Spent a good chunk of my youth dropping tubes and burning crankbaits out of the family bass boat (which in my youth was a flat bottom rig with a jet outboard for running rocky shallow river areas). 13lb is a serious bass. Best largemouth for me maybe 5-6lb, best smallmouth close to 5. Our area is just a bit too cold in a given year to grow monster largemouth, but the smallmouth get some size to them. Nice photo in the avatar too. I grew up running beagles on rabbits and my dad ran coonhounds for years before I was born.

I would love to fish in water that blue! Beautiful!

That particular day the water was unbelievable , with very little wind as well. The fishing is better in Mozambique when the water has a bit of a chop to it .

Got back yesterday from our annual summer vacation, 4 weeks in Prince Rupert, British Columbia (20 days on the water). Plenty of nice little halibut, but the salmon were slow up until the last few days we were there.

HI Bsto270 thanks for your chat. I am fortune to have these lakes around with these quality bass. It's almost time for the big females to move in shallow to Spone. Looking forward to this next 2 months. We do have smallmouth bass in south Africa but more towards the Cape province where it can get very cold. The only lake up north that has small mouth bass is called blyderivierpoord dam. Only fishing there on invitation.

Also one monster of a bass. Was just out harassing smallmouth with a fly rod the other day. Four smaller ones but a good time..

Pete, if you follow the sun home at the end of the day, you end up in the wrong country.:D
:E Eek: dammit... now you tell me!!!
i wondered why everyone's been looking at me funny!!!

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
