Fishing Addiction Group

I’ve always loved to fish but find myself fishing more and more because it’s so much cheaper than hunting. I can travel to different countries and fish with with my wife and the two of us have a vacation cheaper than me hunting alone in most cases. It works out, we get to see new places and still do something outdoors. Sure I’d love to be hunting but I’ll take fishing and travel with her over sitting home all day.

Well it's the dead of winter here and it's been a cold one!!! I am suffering withdrawal for open water...especially the beautiful blue waters in the pics of you guys lucky enough to live near the saltwater and the incredible fish you catch there. So in lieu of that, I'll attach some of our hardwater fishing pics from 2018 so far. We've managed to catch four species to date. Mainly perch for the frying pan. I have also been trying to get some big pike (haven't managed to land one yet) but have caught a few small ones.

Small pike.

Congrats! Nothing better than fresh fried walleye and perch!

mmmm Perch-cicles! That looks mighty tasty.

Alright world fishermen and women, anybody know if there are any fishing to catch in early April around Paris? It is actually my wife's idea. It looks like you can't fish the Seine till May but was wondering if anyone knew of some trout streams close by...feel free to PM me if you don't want to disclose fishing spots publicly...Many thanks!

Had another good icefishing weekend with another species added to the list.

Decent white sucker. Not good tablefare but great fighters.

Richards Bay, KZN.
A 1064.8lb Marlin was caught and weighed in at our local ski-boat club on Monday, 2 April 2018.
This being the first ever 1000lb+ Marlin caught and landed off Richards Bay.

That's just AWESOME!!!
At least they are still out there!!
Was this caught on live bait or plastic?

@Bruce,
As far as I understand a Cona (Pulsator Lure) was used. I unfortumately do not know what colour though.

After the Marlin was landed, the crew were unable to load this giant onto the vessel. They secured it to the boat and then it took another 3 hours to get back to port.

It sure is good to know that such big fish is still out there.

This is where Murphy comes into play...... There was a 3 day compo (Richards Bay Bonanza) that ended on Sunday. The winning fish was a Rockcod of 89.6% to the benchmark. This Marlin was caught on Monday...... right fish, one day too late though.....

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
