First time safari to South Africa

Sir,
I hunted last yeAr with African Sky and they recommended Capricorn Taxidermy to do the work. Mike and his team came to camp my last day and picked up the skins and skulls. They did the work and the shipping procedure of the finished trophies started in January. The shipping by boat including customs clearance and to my home in Kansas was $2400. Logwin Logistics has taken care of the shipment. Now this includes two each of Kudu, Wildebeest, Impala, Blesbock, all back skins tanned and made into pillows and throws, and Warthog tusks that have been polished and capped. Hope this helps. The crate is about 400 lbs and is 6.5 feet long 4.5 feet wide and 3.5 feet high. It takes about a month on the ship

Even hunting 2x1 4 or 5 animals each will not be a problem. You can almost figure one animal in the morning and one in the evening hunt time. That is if you do your part and make the shots. The biggest problem will be maybe not holding out for the best trophy quality you could take in that short of time looking for that many animals. If on your list is impala, blesbuck, springbuck not as hard to do.But add a trophy class kudu or nyala and you should plan more time I think.Your alreay going to save on the mounting since your in the business so I say make it a 8 to10 day hunt less pressure more fun and you can be alittle more picky on what you take.Maybe if you tell us whats on your list we could give you a better idea if 7 days will be enough.

It is quite possible to do those numbers in a 7 day hunt I did it on my first safari taking 9 aimals in 7 days and most were the ones you've listed.

My first safari was 10 days I went wanting 8 animals and I came home with 13. Blew the budget. The hardest thing about the first safari is not pulling the triggerl. If you are hunting 2X1 like has been said, maybe 10 days would be better than 7. Each with your own PH, 7 will do for a first hunt. Hope you enjoy your trip and please write it up here on AH when you get back
