Well talk to your PH'S if they have a .22 or shotgun on the truck but consider a shotgun or .22 split between 2 or 3 guys, or a couple split between 3 or 4. Take turns having it on your truck. Lots of fun to shoot a couple guinea fowl, francolin, or sand grouse. Your trackers will appreciate them for their pot and you may like a change in meat during the hunt as well.Good point on the coordination of calibers. We plan to all bring the same.
The challenge is getting ammo over. At the airport they want $2/round but negotiate on .22, take the actual proof of cost with you. They will take $1 which is still painful. Or take a shotgun and pay the $2. I just don't think you can easily take ammo with if you don't have a gun in that caliber. However any observers can take ammo for you if traveling together. Knock yourself out trying to get your 11 pounds of ammo figured out. That's what the rest of us do
